Our Rooms - First Foundation Preschool & Early Learning

TURTLE ROOM (0-2 YEARS)

A warm and nurturing space designed for our youngest learners, the Turtle Room provides individualized care and flexible routines to support each child’s unique needs. Sensory play and exploration encourage early development, while our dedicated educators ensure a secure and loving environment for your little one to thrive.

Provides a flexible daily schedule for individualised routines as this ensures consistency for young children of their age. Educators will work in collaboration with families to gain an understanding of the child’s home routine and follow this as closely as possible each day.
A designated sleep room adjacent to the play environment ensures the children can be closely monitored during their sleep periods with soft background music to create a relaxing ambiance.
A designated outdoor play space is specifically designed so that young children can explore the natural environment with a focus on gross motor and sensory development.

Dolphin Room (2-4 Years)

In the Dolphin Room, children engage in a balance of play-based learning and structured activities that promote social and emotional development. Our program helps build confidence, communication skills, and a strong foundation for future learning, all while fostering curiosity and creativity.

A separate outdoor area also ensures children of this age can freely explore their learning environment with age like peers.
Toilet training can be introduced to the children where educators feel confident that the child is showing signs they are ready. This will be implemented in partnership with the family to assist the child to reach this milestone.
Further development of the children’s social, emotional and cognitive skills is encouraged and planned for in this age group.
The routine offers a balance of structured and free exploration which includes a focus on fine motor, construction, creative arts, music and movement and language and literature. A continuation of toilet training is strongly encouraged and assistance is provided to children where required. A School Readiness Program is implemented each day and planned in accordance to the children’s interest and goals, with a focus on preparation for school. This ensures children are equipped with the necessary skills for primary school in the following year.

Starfish Room (4-5+ Years)

Focused on school readiness, the Starfish Room prepares children for the next stage of their educational journey. Through engaging literacy and numeracy activities, self-help skill development, and social interaction, we empower children to become independent, confident, and eager learners.

A School Readiness Program is implemented each day and planned in accordance to the children’s interest and goals, with a focus on preparation for school. This ensures children are equipped with the necessary skills for primary school in the following year.
Our School-Readiness Program is led by our long standing and highly qualified educators including a university qualified early childhood teacher. They provide an environment for children to explore, gain a sense of self, engage with peers and build self-confidence within the framework of play based enquiry.
Set within long day-care hours, our daily program provides for each child with an individually tailored learning plan focused on their personal interests and in developing the skills for success at school and well beyond
Languages are incorporated into the daily program through the implementation of ELLA – a digital language program which is an Australian government initiative. It aims at introducing the words, sentences and songs in other languages for children in the year before school.
Our preschool children are introduced to the concepts of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) through planned and spontaneous activities. This aims to create problem solvers, explorers, creative thinkers while building resilience. Some examples of STEM experience include cooking, robotics technology, natural exploration and construction
