A Day in Our Service
Every moment in your child's day is a chance to learn, laugh, and grow - and that's exactly how we plan each day at First Foundation Preschool. Our routines blend real structure with genuine flexibility, giving children the security of knowing what's next, while still leaving plenty of room to explore, create, and simply be a kid.
From morning hellos to afternoon reflections, every activity is designed to build real skills, spark imagination, and help genuine connections form. Here's a glimpse into what a day with us actually looks like:
Daily Routine

Morning Welcome - Arrival and Free Play
Children are greeted warmly and settle in through free play, giving them the time and space to ease into the day at their own pace.

Morning Activities - Yarning Circle
We gather together for songs, stories, and conversation. This time helps build language skills and a genuine sense of belonging within our community.

Learning Centres
Children rotate through different learning centres, each focused on a different area of development - physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, and creative arts.

Snack Time - Healthy Snack
A healthy snack is provided, aligned with the Australian Dietary Guidelines, to keep little bodies energised and growing well.

Outdoor Play - Outdoor Exploration
Children head outdoors to explore, move, and connect with nature - building physical skills and a genuine love of the outdoors.

Lunch and Rest
A balanced lunch is served, followed by quiet time where children can rest or settle into calm, gentle activities.

Afternoon Activities - Themed Projects
Children take part in themed projects that spark curiosity and creativity - anything from simple art and science experiments to group games.

Afternoon Snack
Another healthy snack is provided to keep children energised for the rest of the day.

Closing Activities - Story Time and Reflection
We wind the day down together with story time and reflection, giving children a chance to share what they experienced and learned.

What to Bring?
To help your child have a smooth, comfortable day with us, here's a simple checklist of what to pack:
- Sheets for sleeping
- A warm blanket in winter
- Bibs and face washers for babies (6 weeks – 2 years)
- A water bottle
- 2-3 changes of clothes (especially if toilet training), including spare shoes and socks
- A spare wide-brimmed hat (we provide broad-brimmed hats to all children, but a spare is always handy)
- Please label all belongings with your child's name so nothing goes missing along the way.
